How the roadmap started…
Aka: My story of shiny object sadness
When I started my business, I had a problem.
I was pretty good at figuring things out. I’m a quick learner. People like me and so they buy into my enthusiasm, even when I’m trying new things.
But when you can learn to ‘do it all’, it’s hard time to choose one thing to focus on. As an adult who was diagnosed with ADHD only a few years ago, I found that I was often trying too many things and never sure what was working. I’d get bored. Or distracted. Business would drag to a halt and I’d have to kickstart it again (and again).
But trying to DIY meant that I would run out of energy because of competing demands with clients and my business.
Because I could solve many problems, I’d leave the door open to too many options which drained my energy and my bank account on random ideas and shiny objects and the NEXT BIG THING.
Without a clear plan, it's easy to get lost in the sea of options and doubt your decisions.
